Midnight Vision emerged through a collaborative painting process by Marlon Nikolai and Fae (Cara Lorena Höltgen). The work approaches night not as complete darkness, but as a condition in which perception becomes uncertain and isolated intensities begin to emerge.
Deep blue, violet and black fields gather around a luminous central passage. Reflected and metallic-looking areas change with the surrounding light, allowing the painting to move between opacity and sudden visibility. Forms remain close to recognition without settling into a fixed scene.
The title connects this altered visibility to an inner image: a vision that appears when ordinary orientation has receded. The collaborative surface preserves two distinct sets of gestures within the same nocturnal field, making perception itself feel shared, interrupted and repeatedly reconfigured.
