Himmelsviereck

Himmelsviereck is organised around a framed opening onto a pale, shifting sky. The rectangle does not function as a neutral window: its dark border sharply separates one pictorial condition from another and turns the view itself into a constructed image.

A red, vertically suspended form interrupts the apparent openness. It reads at once as seam, trace and material body—something caught between descent and ascent. Beside it, white lines move restlessly across a dark green field, replacing atmospheric depth with an insistent, almost diagrammatic surface.

The work brings containment and expansiveness into the same structure. Sky is made finite by the square, while gesture exceeds any stable orientation. Himmelsviereck holds these different spatial logics together without resolving whether the opening offers access, distance or enclosure.
