By Spaceship, Words and Boat to You approaches connection as the overcoming of distance. Spaceship, words and boat stand for three different ways of reaching another person: through space, through language and across water.
A bright diagonal cuts through the atmospheric upper field, while horizontal bands structure the pictorial space like horizons, frequencies or interrupted channels of transmission. A vertical movement condenses at the centre; below, deep blue passages gather into an open, almost water-like field. The painting assigns none of these appearances unequivocally to any one of the three routes. Instead, it translates their shared movement into direction, rhythm, resistance and trace.
The painting itself introduces a fourth possibility: visual communication. Colour and form transmit no unequivocally legible message, yet establish a relation across distance. The work does not depict arrival at the other person, but the continued attempt to reach them.
