Midnight Dream emerged through a collaborative painting process by Marlon Nikolai and Fae (Cara Lorena Höltgen). The work occupies the threshold at which the darkness of night begins to generate its own images.
Deep blue and black passages are interrupted by gold, violet and pale drifting forms. Some marks seem to advance from the surface while others recede into an indeterminate depth. The composition offers no stable ground, allowing perception to move through it as it might through a dream whose internal logic is convincing but impossible to map.
The collaborative process remains visible in the meeting of different gestures and material densities. Rather than merging into one uniform hand, they form a nocturnal field in which memory, atmosphere and projection can briefly gather before dissolving again.
Acquired directly from the studio. Each work is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity and recorded in the studio archive.
