Zeit Engel

Zeit Engel emerged from a shared painting process by Marlon Nikolai and Fae (Cara Lorena Höltgen). The work connects the idea of time with a figure that mediates between presence and absence, body and apparition.

The composition develops through layered gestures, fields of colour and linear traces. Individual forms seem to come forward and withdraw again at the same time. No clearly bounded angel appears; instead, the painting produces a mobile presence—something that enters perception without becoming fully graspable.

Time is not treated as a linear sequence. Earlier and later interventions remain visible simultaneously; responses, overpaintings and additions by both artistic impulses condense within the same surface. The image carries its own making as a layered temporal state.

Zeit Engel opens a space between protective figure, memory and temporal movement. Collaboration becomes the material form of a dialogue in which two hands do not dissolve one another, but bring forth a shared and provisional figure.
