Zentrum des Solarsystems takes the historical displacement of Earth from the assumed centre of the cosmos as its conceptual point of departure. The publication of Copernicus’s heliocentric model in 1543 did more than revise an astronomical diagram: it destabilised a seemingly secure position from which the world had been understood.

The work approaches this shift as a question of perception and self-location. A centre can organise an image, a system or a belief, yet it remains dependent on scale and point of view. What appears fixed from one position becomes peripheral from another.

Rather than illustrating a scientific discovery, the painting holds onto the unsettled space that follows it: the moment in which certainty gives way to a larger and less human-centred order.
