Kleiner als Drei takes its title from the typographic heart “<3” and translates that compressed sign into an unstable painterly structure. Created in collaboration with Cara Lorena, the work approaches intimacy through construction, overlap and interruption rather than through a fixed emblem.
A luminous yellow framework stretches across fields of violet, red and earth tones. Its repeated lines suggest architecture, notation and a pulse-like rhythm, while long drips pull the structure downwards and expose the force of gravity within the image.
The heart is therefore present without being literally drawn. It appears as a relation between elements: support and vulnerability, connection and distance, form and dissolution. The collaborative process reinforces this condition, allowing the painting to hold more than one gesture and more than one emotional register at the same time.
Acquired directly from the studio. Each work is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity and recorded in the studio archive.
