24 Carat Goldsegen centres on a pair of hands held in Añjali Mudrā. Cast as a compact sculptural form and covered with 24-karat gold, the gesture brings material value into contact with an embodied sign of recognition and encounter.
The gold is neither decorative surface nor simple emblem of luxury. It intensifies the tension between external value and an inner conception of worth. Light moves across the object and prevents its appearance from becoming fixed; the sculpture changes with the position of the viewer and the conditions of the room.
The work translates a familiar gesture into a concentrated material proposition: what is recognised in the other is inseparable from the way value is perceived, reflected and returned.
