Sun Behind Clouds Remi begins from a simple perceptual condition: light remains present even when its source is obscured. The work translates that condition into a dense meeting of colour, covering and partial emergence.
Turquoise passages move across red, yellow and violet layers, while black vertical lines interrupt the surface with a different rhythm. Earlier colours remain visible at the edges and through breaks in the upper layers. Concealment therefore never becomes complete.
The painting holds brightness as something indirect—registered through its effects rather than represented as a literal sun. What is hidden continues to organise the image, allowing presence and absence to operate within the same compact field.
