Zwischen fernen Schleiern approaches the unseen through a surface that both reveals and withholds. A broad field of pale turquoise appears almost continuous, yet interruptions in blue, ochre and red remain visible beneath and across it.
The veil is not represented as a separate object. It is produced through the act of painting itself: covering, scraping and allowing earlier layers to return in fragments. What lies beneath is neither completely hidden nor fully recoverable.
The work considers how perception is shaped by what remains partial. Distance is created not by perspectival depth, but by layers of visibility. The image stays close to the surface while suggesting that its decisive elements may exist just beyond immediate recognition.
